Dr. Nögel was my external mentor when I started my independent research group in Cologne in 2013. She was very kind, supportive, and offered her guidance in establishing my career. Dr. Nögel was incredibly kind-hearted, caring, and such a lovely woman. We were speechless for a moment as we heard the news. She has got a lovely soul that will rest in peace. We wish her family strength and courage to withstand her absence.

I met Angelika when I was a PhD student working on profilin. She inspired me then and throughout my career. She combined being a wonderful person with being a great scientist and role model. She helped me with my career and she always supported others and brought out the best in people. I am very sad that she is gone and she will be fondly remembered and admired. Rest in peace, Angelika.

I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Noegel since 2003, and the many memories I have of her are still fresh and vivid. She was not only a remarkable individual but also an inspiring mentor who made a profound impact on the lives of many students. Her generosity in offering invaluable guidance extended far beyond her immediate group members. Dr. Noegel's loss will be felt deeply within the Dicty community. May her soul rest in peace.
