I met Angelika when I was a PhD student working on profilin. She inspired me then and throughout my career. She combined being a wonderful person with being a great scientist and role model. She helped me with my career and she always supported others and brought out the best in people. I am very sad that she is gone and she will be fondly remembered and admired. Rest in peace, Angelika.

Really very sad! A great loss to the world Dicty community and to me personally. She was a hidden motivation and inspiration for me, even though we had not been in contact in recent years.
Rest in peace, Prof. Angelika Noegel.
She shaped my life—I would have been no one without her support. Twice in my life, she picked me up from nothing and helped me stand on my feet.
Without her, her beloved Dictyostelium and the Dicty community will deeply miss her. Her legacy and contributions to science will always be respected and remembered.
Rest in peace, Prof. Angelika Noegel. 💐😢
