Today I light this candle in remembrance of Vladimir Sidorenko – a valued colleague, a trusted collaborator, and above all, a dear friend.

Vladimir was not only an outstanding scientist with deep insight and remarkable creativity; he was also a person of exceptional kindness, warmth, and integrity. Working with him was always inspiring: his thoughtful questions, his quiet determination, and his genuine curiosity enriched every project we shared. His contributions to our research will continue to shape our field, but it is his humanity that will remain unforgettable.

I am grateful for the many conversations, the shared moments of progress and discovery, and the friendship that grew from our collaboration. Losing him leaves a painful gap, but the impact he made—professionally and personally—will stay with us.

This candle is a small symbol of the light he brought into the lives of those around him.
